I’m a visual artist born and raised in the Dominican Republic where I lived until I was in my early 20s. I moved to the United States to continue my art studies at Parsons School in Design in NYC, where I obtained a BFA.
I was originally trained in Illustration, and worked as an editorial illustrator in the Dominican Republic, and later in the States as a graphic designer before fully concentrating in painting, clay sculpture, and ceramics.

My interested in art teaching evolved out of volunteering in my son’s art classes during his first year of elementary school where I had the opportunity to be in an art room assisting children through their creative and artistic processes. Observing children’s playful and inventive nature when they are giving the freedom to express creatively spark my interest to become a teaching artist, and an advocator of art making and artistic self expression. I’ve been working as a teaching artist since 2009, and have taught community arts programs through various Art Organizations in Westchester County since 2013.
